So maybe I forgot about this..

I've been busy with it being christmas and all D: But I haven't really been up to much.. A few Limbus runs, a few sky runs... A few Halo bouts on Xbox Live. UNRELATED!

But I'm posting to show off my new toy. After babysitting that stupid NPC over 30 times I finally got my Yigit Gomlek. (: Other than that I have nothing ot report as usual XD. I'm going to visit my snuggle bunny next week so no more posts then either. D:

Long time no blog. D:

Ooops. Sorry. Just haven't had the time between uni, work and playing to even think about blogging at the moment. But nothing all that interesting has happened regardless! Just been the usual. Sky and Limbus... Doing random stuff in between.

For a start I found it funny while doing Campaign battles that you can attack the 'Fortifications' in Beastmen controlled zones. Not sure if anyone's worked out how to beat them yet since they keep regenning, but it was an interesting thing to see. 50+ people crowded round a wall hitting it. XD Was rather entertaining. I think I might go do some more campaign now though. (: Easy way to get closer to a few merits. Which are always welcome! As far as merits are concerned I now have 2 in wind, 1 in singing and I have Troubadour unlocked. Hurrah! Though at the moment the best use I found for it is extended time on Mazurka. It'll be better when I finally get my Yigit :D

Also I managed to unlock Dancer. I've been having fun on that in the Dunes for a while (: Managed to get it to level 12! When all the hype has died down around it I plan to level it more. I find it quite an enjoyable job to play. A bit like Bard but you get to melee ! So it's like. Woohey! And you just look kickass while doing it too. I so wanna go BRD/DNC so I can sing then dance to my own music. /sad. ._.; Hey, it's gotta be done! D:

Other than that I really haven't done much in-game at all. Apart from Proto-Omega on Saturday I suppose. My snugglebunny got a piece of Homam. <3>

But enough of that. (: So what have I been doing lately? Not a lot I think. I've managed to sprain my wrist somehow (no dirty thoughts, please). Which has made a lot of things to do with playing Bard quite tricky. I've been playing one handed for the most part. But it's getting better now.

So as I mentioned in my last post, Ed and I finally dinged 75. After about a year and a half that is. XD God we're slow. But it's great to have another job 75 again since I've stopped playing Red Mage. Though sometimes I feel kind of hopeless as Bard since I can't really solo as well. I might end up re-buying my Red Mage gear just for soloing purposes one day. But for now I'm going to pimp out Bard with every penny I can spare. O: Which also means spamming Assault to get my Yigit Gomlek which will last me until I can afford a Sha'ir Manteel... One day.

Well to be honest I haven't really done all that much apart from Assault and helping with missions. O_o; So there's not much to write about. I've PLed Ed's Ninja a bit too.

Oh! That was it. I got the Coiled Yarn from Limbus (: The item used in Bard Relic Upgrade. Just need the Doeskin now and I can upgrade a piece of AF. >w<

Thank you SE. XD I'm loving the new expansion so much. Campaign is such a big improvement on Besieged. It's smaller scale and spread across Vana'Diel. And the fact you can teleport to the zones is pretty awesome too.

I don't know. I know I haven't experienced a lot of the expansion content yet but I am thouroughly enjoying what I have. Campaign Ops, Campaign Battles... Exploring the new areas (Though that's been scary at the same time. VT mobs in Pashhow Marshlands? Pssht.) I've yet to get any decent screens of Campaign because it doesn't last too long. And staying alive is tough enough without having to stop to take a screenie.

I need to start dragging Ed and Dar to them >_>

Long time no post.

Well. That's heavily due to work and my wanting to play in between. But I guess I should post what I've been up to (: Well. In between camping Campaign XD

So most of my time has been spent exploring the expansion with Ed and Dar really, since I don't really understand what the expansion has bought us as of yet. Well apart from Campaign. I wanted to join the Bastok forces but Ed and Dar wanted to do San d'Oria.. So I was outnumbered. I feel like a traitor stood here in San d'Oria right now waiting for Campaign to start.

Well the first thing I recall doing was helping Darcia with Bastok rank missions. Namely trioing the shadow lord. Of course I was skeptical at first but apparently it worked. Strange? We even beat the battle clear record. Probably because of all the maintenance. XD But for future referance, a Paladin, a Bard and a Dragoon can trio the Shadow Lord with very little problem at all. The biggest problem was the physical attack immunity. Banish spam ftw! Well, they'll be ranking up Windurst next so I should imagine we'll be doing it again in the future regardless. It was fun anyway. (: I'm not going to switch from Bastok, I decided. Because I'm too lazy to get all my OP warps again.

After that it was finally time to explore the expansion areas with Ed and Dardar. And after dying a few times, being stalked by Mandragoras of the past and running around for what seemed like hours, we finally made it to San d'Oria. (yay ._.). So I'm now a 'proud member' of the San d'Orian Iron Rams. Joy! I'm so making them do Bastok after San d'Oria.

Hmmm. The next thing I really remember doing is Limbus yesterday. Ed and I did SE Apollyon which was.. Interesting. I've only ever done Temenos before now so it was a new experience to say the least. For a start the terrain looks a lot like the promyvions. I wasn't expecting that. o_O Nothing all that important really happened in there. I'm still trying to get to grips with doing Limbus as a Bard, I feel like an end game noob again XD. Well anyway. My yield was 4 coins, which is a profit in my eyes since it costs 30k to enter Limbus. So 4 coins for 30k is a profit. Ed got 4 coins and a piece of Paladin HQ AF upgrade. Lucky sod! I don't think I'll get any Bard any time soon because Bard isn't free lot yet.

Then straight after that it was time for Sky farming with Nephilim. I'm undecided whether I'm enjoying sky again yet. There's nothing I want from sky at all, I'm just there for the events and for Ed really. (: Managed to do BB twice and claimed Faust before the other linkshell up there, which of course ended in Drama. As usuaul. Then we unfortunately wiped to MG. It feels weird being back in sky but not as a leader.

Anyway, back to camping Campaign! I need to catch some EXP before my snugglebunny gets on (: I'll post screens of it later~

Whee!

Well as soon as maintenance was done we hopped back into FFXI to pay the Tonberry another visit. Which was fun as ever O_o; But congratulations to my snugglebunny for getting his Carbuncle's Mitts... Not that he'll use them. Then it was back to helping Dardar with some more San d'Oria rank NMs.

So we killed two greater bird NMs in Batallia Downs for Dardar's rank 9. It was pretty simple. But I was merely enjoying the view in Batallia since it was an area of it I'd yet to visit. I never realised you could actually get to the island on the south of the map. I just thought it was there for show. Too bad you can't get there alone, because that would be my new haunt spot if so. Only a few Goblin Bounty Hunters, and of course their diet only consists of fishing botters. (:

So afer lurking there for a while, and writing a bit of my uni assignment, I decided to go poke around in the new areas for a bit and listen to the music. It's my favourite thing about the Expansion so far. The music is beautiful. But I accidently managed to join Bastok's campaign. Usually that wouldn't bother me. But I'd already promised to do San d'Oria with Ed and Dar. So then I find out I had to walk all the way to Bastok before I could change to San d'Oria. Sounds easy right? No. You'd think the people of Vana'Diel 20 years previous would have heard of Chocobos... Obviously not. I had to walk. And there were VT mobs everywhere. It was rather scary. But after about an hour of Mazurka'ing myself and getting horribly lost in North Gustaburg [S], I found my way to Bastok.

On the way back when I was heading to the nearest Maw, I encountered this random cutscene that made me rather sad. [[Spoiler warning]]. I wouldn't advise enlarging the image if you don't want it ruined for you. But a random soldier died in front of me. Not 'KO' die... Acually died. It made me sad. Even worse was the fact that it was my snugglebunny's chracter model ;w;. It was so random. Pah. Silly Square - Enix making me feel all sad inside.

After that my snugglebunny told me that Charybdis was up again. Now this NM is a pain in the arse to camp. Always overcamped and even if you do claim it's a pain in the arse to kill. But regardless, I headed down to Sea Serpant Grotto with him. He managed to convince the random Red Mage Taru there that they should team up for a better chance of winning. I'm not sure how. But he did.

Well as you can see from the picture, my snugglebunny got his Joytoy. We won't be seeing Sea Serpant Grotto again anytime soon. Well, he very politely offered to help the Red Mage Taru, which I thought was lovely. {/comfort}

Oh poopie.

I woke up knowing it was going to be a bad day and that's exactly what it was. Ate 2 deaths today bringing my EXP total to 8953. Oh well, I suppose there's a cost for entertainment and it comes in the form of experience points.

Other than that I've done nothing all that interesting today because Square-Enix announced emergancy server maintenance, yet again. But I managed to help Darcia with her San d'Oria 8-2 mission NM. With my snugglebunny too, of course. Well, that was the cause of one of the deaths anyway. Why am I always the first to die? >w<

So the morning/afternoon has been spent in the Temple of Uggalepih. Searching for coffers and killing NMs of some sort. We even managed to kill the Carbuncle's Mitts NM for Vantopace 5 minutes before the maintenance started. I've never seen 4 people so desparate to kill a NM. It was quite funny actually. Because imagine, you'd just used the pop item you spent ages to get on a really hard to get people for NM. And you only had 5 minutes or it would be lost for good. Well that was it really. I've never seen someone lot an item so fast, it was rather entertaining to say the least. And can I just say, Light Carol > Searing Light. Silly Carbuncle. I do believe my snugglebunny has a pop item for it too so more Crimsontooth-Pawberry ownage will ensue as soon as Square Enix brings the servers back up. D:

Now to wait for the maintenance to finish. ~

And so it begins.

Well it's 2am, I'm not sleepy and I'm just plain bored. So after mulling it over in my mind over and over again, I actually decided to remake my FFXI blog. So here we are.

This also comes at a perfect time, since not only has the new expansion just come out (which has awesome music, might I add), I am also about a stones throw away from attaining my second level 75 and new main job, Bard. So it seems fitting that I recreate this blog as such a time (:

Suppose I should introduce myself. I'm Kinikki, I play on the phoenix server and have done for 3 years now. As I said, my main job is now Bard, but my previous was Red Mage 75. I decided it was time to hang up the old Warlock's Chapeau and make way for the 500 other Red Mage hitting 75 every day.

Now that's out of the way, I should probably tell you what I did today. Well for a start I reached level 74 on Bard. Oh, did I mention I static my Bard with my boyfriend's Paladin? He also reached 74. Which is quite good for him since it's his highest job now. (Like me, he used to be Red Mage. Go figure). Though he did level about 4000 EXP before me due to my 3 deaths the previous night. Gogo Bard pulling!

But for me that means only one more song to learn. One more song that I'll never use anyway because parties always want the same things. Minuet. Madrigal. March. Sigh. The life of a Bard can be so interesting. Well I lie. It actually is pretty interesting. Just gets slightly repeatative from time to time.

Pretty much all I have done this week is EXPed with Edmon, my boyfriend and occaisionally Darcia (: Though on Saturday I did manage to get them sea access, finally. Which gives me more reasons to go to sea. And it also gives me more reasons to feed Ed to stuff. The Yorva get hungry. (:

After EXPing for a while we had to attend Limbus. Which was funny because it was Edmon's first time doing Limbus (Adorable!). I'd done it before but not as much, as with Arsenals my old linkshell the runs would have been at 5am in the morning. And I'm not that dedicated. But we recently joined an EU Limbus shell, as well as an EU HNM shell too. It feels weird doing end game with him because I'm so used to him just being elsewhere and asking me how it's going. But I'm enjoying it.

We managed to do Temenos 2nd floor with only one death, and that was accidental. I myself gained 2 Ancient Beastcoins, bringing my total to 7 and my snugglebunny (Edmon's slightly less attractive nickname that I have bestowed upon him and will be using to refer to him from time to time) got 3.

We're both going for HQ Artifact armour as far as I know. Choral Cannions + 1 will be mine! . Anyway. I suppose I better go put my head down for an hour or so considering I have uni to attend in.. 5 hours. See you tomorrow~
